2018-19:  During her junior year, Els competed in nine events including three at the BIG EAST Championships. She secured new personal bests in the 100-and 200-fly and the 200-IM during her performance at the championships. In the 100-fly she swam to a 55.50 finish, she touched the wall in 2:03.34 in the 200-fly and she recorded a 2:03.98 finish in the IM. Her time in the 200-IM gave her a fifth-place finish in the BE. Els was also a competitor at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships where she competed in the 100 and 200-butterfly and 200-IM events and the 200, 400 and 800-freestyle relays and 200-medley relay. 

2017-18: Competed in 10 events during her sophomore year, primarily in the freestyle, butterfly and medley relay events. She swam in the 200 and 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM in the BIG EAST Championships. She clocked a time of 55.93 in the 100 butterfly, a time of 2:04.16 in the 200 butterfly and a time of 2:05.85 in the 200 IM which bested her previous top times in the events. 

2016-17: Primarily competed in freestyle, butterfly and IM events during the season…Swam in three events at the BIG EAST Championships…Placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly at the meet with a time of 56.98 (56.35 in prelims)…Earned a fourth place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall at 2:04.71 (2:04.43 in prelims)…Finished in eighth place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:06.27 (2:05.96 in prelims).

Collegiate Girls’ High School: Member of the swimming and hockey teams in high school…Earned Athlete of the Year honors…Recipient of the Geography prize and Academic Scroll…Swam in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 200 Free.

Personal: Daughter of Nico and Caroline Els…Plans to major in finance…Enjoys river rafting and can speak Afrikaans…Chose Villanova because of the great academic and athletic programs.
