Career: Has competed 18 times during her career and was part of a first place finish in the third varsity eight at the CAA Championship as a junior in 2021 … Six-time selection to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll three times.
2021-22: Competed with both the Varsity Four and Second Varsity Eight, primarily sitting bow or in the 3-spot … Varsity Four boat finished third at the CAA with a time of 7:41.667 … Landed the V4 Grand Final at the Mason Invitational, finishing fourth at 8:02.2 … 2V8 defeated UConn with a time of 7:10.57 and was second to Eastern Michigan at 7:07.69 … Part of the 2V8 that finished second in the dual with Drexel and La Salle, posting a time of 8:00.3 … Competed with a V8 group that finished 14th (13:54.449) at the Head of Schuylkill.
2020-21: Part of Villanova’s third varsity eight team which tallied a first place finish at the CAA Championships … The squad recorded a winning time of 7:07.31 and posted a three-second margin of victory over Delaware and pre-race favorite Northeastern … Competed in three regattas during the year and rowed in the bow seat for both the third varsity eight boat and the second varsity four squad … Made her season debut at George Mason where the 3V8 team tallied a first place finish with a winning time of 7:04.8 and a margin of victory of 4.1 seconds over Delaware and Jacksonville … The 2V4 boat notched a third place finish at George Mason with a time of 7:59.7 … Competed in the third varsity eight lineup at the Kelly Cup where the Wildcats posted a time of 7:19.2 and were awarded a first place finish when Temple was disqualified in the race.
2019-20: Raced twice in the team’s third varsity eight boat during the year … The team came in 24th in a field of 38 entries in the Club Championship Eights at the Head of the Schuylkill and finished 10th in the JV8+ race at the Navy Day Regatta … Also was in the second varsity four boat (stroke) at the Metro Cup Regatta where the Wildcats tallied a runner-up finish in competition against UCF and Rollins.
2018-19: Competed seven times during her freshman season and was part of Villanova squads in the second varsity four and third varsity eight boats … The 2V4 team qualified for the Petite Final against stiff competition at the Cooper Sprints, then went on to finish third overall in the Grand Final at the same site a week later during the Cooper Invitational … Helped lead the 2V4 team to a third place finish at the Kerr Cup and a runner-up finish to Kansas at the George Mason Invitational … Villanova also came in second in competition against Saint Joseph’s and Delaware … Part of the team’s ‘A’ lineup (3-seat) in the Club Fours at the Kings Heat Regatta … Competed in the third varsity eight (2-seat) at the Rollins Invitational where Villanova finished ahead of Duquesne to win its race.
St. John’s College High School: Competed on the rowing team and played lacrosse during her scholastic career … Three-year winner of her school’s Honors Award … Inducted to the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
Personal: Born 10/16/00 in Washington, D.C. … One of three children of William and Erica Barnes … Siblings are Isabella (23) and Noah (18) … Chose to attend Villanova because it is a community of people and because she was interested in the school’s impressive science program … Psychology major and Philosophy minor.
