Villanova Athletics and Nike are proud to present the Villanova P.A.W.S program: Providing Athletes With Support. The P.A.W.S. program helps to ensure the best quality experience for Villanova student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Wildcat student-athletes represent the best in athletic and academic achievements, and Nike is proud to recognize these student leaders.
This week's P.A.W.S. honors go to Wildcat sophomore Michelle Biehl, a Villanova women's soccer standout from Southampton, Pa., and Archbishop Wood High School. Michelle had an outstanding week for the Wildcats, helping Villanova to a 2-0-1 record both with her defense and as an offense presence. One of the anchors of the Wildcat defense, Biehl was a key in holding opponents to just three goals in three games as Villanova outshot its opponents 88-17 for the week. On Sept. 4 at Manhattan, she assisted on the game-tying goal is a 1-1 tie versus the Jaspers. Three days later on Sept. 7 against Marist, Biehl broke a 0-0 second half tie with her first collegiate goal. Her penalty kick at the 66:17 mark was the game-winning goal for the Wildcats. Biehl's defensive play against the Red Foxes was just as vital, however, as Villanova outshot Marist 29-2 in a 4-0 shutout victory. We congratulate Michelle on his achievements, and proudly support the Villanova P.A.W.S. program. For additional information regarding P.A.W.S., contact Villanova University at (610) 519-4605.
