    Assistant Coach

Adam White is in his second season on the Villanova coaching staff in 2017. He is the Wildcats hitting coach and works with the team's outfielders defensively. White also is the coordinator of the program's national recruiting efforts.

In his first season as Villanova's hitting coach, White worked with four hitters who earned All-BIG EAST honors. First baseman Max Beermann and second baseman Todd Czinege were each first team selections, while third baseman Kevin Jewitt and outfielder Adam Goss were second team picks. Czinege led the Wildcats in six different offensive categories and finished the year with a .307 batting average, six home runs and 36 runs batted in.

Villanova ranked second in the BIG EAST with 22 home runs in 2016 and Beermann hit a team-high seven homers to earn all-conference honors for the first time in his career. Czinege, Beermann and Goss all hit better than .300 in conference games, and Beermann ranked third in the league with a .538 slugging percentage versus BIG EAST pitching. His streak of reaching base safely in 24 straight games during the year was the longest by a Wildcats hitter in five years.

White played two seasons of college baseball at West Virginia and is a former All-BIG EAST outfielder and league Rookie of the Year. He was a ninth round draft pick of the Cleveland Indians in 2007 and went on to play parts of three seasons in the minor leagues. He played in 247 games at the professional level and had 195 hits, 142 runs scored, 73 stolen bases and 29 doubles.

White broke onto the collegiate scene in 2006 when he was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and earned Freshman All-America honors from Louisville Slugger. He batted .368 with 48 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 2006 for a Mountaineers team that won 36 games and reached the BIG EAST Championship. He also batted .365 with 45 runs and 77 hits in 2007 and was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American.

At the end of his playing career, White quickly established himself in the coaching ranks at the collegiate level and in collegiate summer leagues. His coaching stops prior to Villanova included stints at Penn State, Oral Roberts and Valparaiso.

White spent the 2015 season at Valparaiso and was responsible for the Crusaders outfielders and base running. He coached a pair of All-Horizon League performers in Nolan Lodden and Giovanni Garbella while helping Valparaiso post a winning record in conference play and advance to the Horizon League tournament. Lodden, a junior college transfer, earned second team all-conference accolades after batting .327 with 12 doubles, 45 runs scored and a team-high 10 stolen bases in his first season with the Crusaders. Garbella was named to the All-Freshman Team after batting .286 in conference games and establishing himself as one of the team's top defensive outfielders.

White spent one season at Oral Roberts in 2014 and helped the Golden Eagles win 30 games. During three years at Penn State from 2011-13, White served as the outfield coach and the first base coach as well as working with the team's base running, bunting and hitting. The Nittany Lions averaged 25 wins per season during his time with the program.

In addition to his collegiate coaching stops, White has head coaching experience in summer leagues. He coached the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods Summer Collegiate League in 2013 and was responsible for recruiting, hitting and base running in addition to overseeing the team's pitching and defense. White was also an assistant coach for the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes Collegiate League in 2012, where he oversaw the team's hitting and outfielders. His hitters that season posted league-leading totals in six different offensive categories, including batting average and home runs.

A native of Philipsburg, Pa., White earned a Bachelor's of Education degree from Penn State in 2012.
