2017: Pitched in 18 games out of the bullpen and was tied for third on the staff in appearances … Logged 22 2/3 innings and had four outings of two innings or more … Pitched a season-high four innings and had a season-high three strikeouts against Penn on April 4 … Had a stretch of four straight appearances from April 23-May 6 in which he worked 7 2/3 innings while allowing just six hits and no earned runs … The second game in that run was against Georgetown on April 28 when he pitched three scoreless innings with two hits allowed and two strikeouts … Pitched to a 3.75 ERA spanning 12.0 innings in his final eight appearances of the year to build momentum towards what would be a strong 2018 campaign … Notched the final two outs against Central Michigan on March 4 to earn a save in Villanova’s first win of the season.
 
2016: Recorded a strong rookie year which included 15 relief appearances and four starts at the end of the season … His 19 games pitched tied for fourth on the team … Pitched to a 3.13 ERA over 23.0 innings in his 15 games out of the bullpen … Did not allow a home run in any of those games … He moved into the starting rotation after a stretch of nine appearances from March 22-April 27 in which he allowed just one earned run on 12 hits over 13 2/3 innings (0.66 ERA) … That run was part of a larger stretch in which he yielded only two earned runs in his last 11 appearances in relief … Worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings against St. John’s on April 16 in an outing that tied his longest relief appearance of the year … Pitched a hitless inning with a walk and a strikeout in a 9-1 win over Butler on April 8 … Tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings against La Salle on April 20 and earned his first career save in a 5-2 victory … Made his debut as a starter on April 30 versus Creighton and surrendered three runs (two earned) on three hits in four innings of work … Held NYIT to two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings on May 8.
 
Club Baseball: Played for Gallagher Team Mizuno from 2013-15 … The team was ranked No. 1 in New Jersey and No. 37 nationally by Perfect Game … Named a Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American in 2014 and was a 2015 Perfect Game Northeast All-Region pick.
 
Timber Creek High School: Earned three varsity letters in baseball and two in wrestling … As a senior was named All-Olympic Conference at both pitcher and shortstop, as well as All-South Jersey as a pitcher … Compiled a 7-0 record as a senior with a 1.79 ERA and 62 strikeouts … Selected to play in the New Jersey Underclass Garden State Game … Graduated with Honors academically and was a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Oldest of three children of Jeff and Nancy Lutner … Has two younger sisters, Krystin (18) and Katie (16) … Father pitched in college at Rowan from 1984-88 … Enjoys working out in his spare time … Chose to attend Villanova for the prestigious education and the chance to play baseball … Economics major.
