CAREER COLLEGIATE RESULTS
Ran the leadoff leg of the 4xMile relay for three teams that won Championship of America titles at the Penn Relays ... Villanova won those three championships in a four-year span from 2023-26 and Donoghue was the only common link who was part of all three of those winning lineups ... That includes running a 3:59.32 leadoff leg in 2024 when the Wildcats not only won their second straight title but posted the No. 2 time in world history while setting a collegiate, Penn Relays and school record at 15:51.91 ... Terrific relay runner who helped set a school record and win a BIG EAST title in the distance medley relay, as well as earning second team All-America honors in the DMR for the 2026 indoor season ... As an individual runner he is a sub-four-minute miler whose PRs include times of 3:58.07 in the mile and 3:40.86 in the 1500 meters ... As a sophomore in 2023 he was the BIG EAST champion in the 1500 meters, qualified for the NCAA Championships outdoors and garnered honorable mention All-America recognition ... Two-time BIG EAST champion and three-time All-BIG EAST performer overall ... | NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION |
During the 2021 summer season competed at the Irish Life Health National Senior Championships as well as both the Irish U20 Championships and the European Athletics U20 Championships in Tallinn, Estonia … Two-time Irish U20 champion in the 1500 meters, winning the title in 2020 in 3:58.55 and in 2021 in 3:53.46 … Advanced to the final of the 1500 meters at the National Senior Championships … Finished 13
th in the final with a time of 3:58.14 after finishing second in his preliminary heat with a time of 3:54.10 one day earlier … Ran in the final alongside Villanova teammate Charlie O’Donovan … At the European U20 meet came in seventh in the 1500 meters in 3:51.64 … Tallied a fifth place finish in the 1500 meters at the Irish Indoor Championships in March 2020.
St. Declan’s College: Competed on the soccer team at St. Declan’s and was named the school’s Athlete of the Year.
Personal: Born 9/22/02 in Dublin, Ireland … Younger of two sons of Ken and Mary Donoghue … Has an older brother, Conor (26) … Enjoys cheering for Manchester United in his spare time … Chose to attend Villanova for its strong Irish pipeline of track & field athletes, the rich tradition of the school and the reputation of the Villanova School of Business … Accounting major.
