Career: Three-time All-BIG EAST performer … Earned first team all-conference accolades as a freshman in 2018 before going on to be a second-team selection as both a sophomore and a senior … Named to the All-ECAC second team her sophomore season … Two-time member of the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team, including in 2021 when her go-ahead grand slam on the final day of the conference tournament forced a winner-take-all game and helped lift Villanova to the first BIG EAST title in program history … Two-time BIG EAST Player of the Week and was named once to the conference weekly honor roll during her career … One of the most accomplished players in the history of Villanova softball when all was said and done … At the end of her career ranked in the top-10 in school history in 13 different career statistical categories, including tying the program record for getting hit by a pitch (34) … Tied for second in school history in games started (225), ranked third in games played (229) and had a consecutive game streak of 196 straight games which spanned from the 2018-22 seasons … Ranked third in school history in runs scored (154), fourth in walks (80), sixth in at-bats (682) and seventh in doubles (41) … Other top-10 ranks were assists (tie-seventh, 324); stolen bases (tie-9th, 36); runs batted in (tie-10th, 102); and total bases (tie-10th, 287) … Ranked in the top-five in the Wildcats single-season record book in getting hit by a pitch (tie-3rd, 12, 2022) and runs scored (tie-5th, 46, 2019) … Career totals included 154 runs scored, 196 hits, 41 doubles, four triples, 14 home runs, 102 runs batted in, 80 walks, 34 hit by pitch, 102 strikeouts and 36 stolen bases in 43 tries ... Played almost exclusively at second base and compiled a career fielding percentage of .949 with 371 putouts, 324 assists and 37 errors in 732 total chances … Villanova was 139-100-2 (.581) during her career and won the first two BIG EAST titles in program history (2021, 2022) … Part of Wildcats teams which recorded the program’s highest winning percentage in conference play in a single season (.882, 15-2, 2021) and the most conference wins in a single season in the Villanova record book (16, 2022) … Three-time Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete, earning that distinction in three consecutive years from 2019-20 through 2021-22 … Five-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team … Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll nine times.
 
2022: Played in 46 games with 44 starts on the year … A midseason injury cost her 10 games and interrupted a streak of 196 consecutive games played which spanned from March 4, 2018 through March 5, 2022 … It is the fourth-longest streak in school history … In the final plate appearance of her collegiate career she was hit by a pitch to tie the program’s all-time career record of 34 times getting hit … She was plunked twice in the final game of the season by South Dakota State in the Orlando Regional of the NCAA Tournament … Was hit by a pitch 12 times in 159 plate appearances during the season, with that total tying for third most in a season in the Villanova record book … Slashed .248/.377/.357 for the year … Went 32-for-129 at the plate with 16 walks, 26 strikeouts and two sacrifice flies … Had eight doubles, two home runs, 18 runs scored, 16 runs batted in and three stolen bases in six tries … Collected 10 multi-hit games and had five multi-RBI games … Hit two home runs in a game for the first time in her career in an 8-2 win at Penn on April 6 … Teammate Paige Rauch also homered twice in that contest, making the duo the first Villanova players to each homer twice in the same game in 42 years … Had a streak of 10 straight games reaching base safely midway through the year … Played outstanding defense at second base with 56 putouts, 66 assists, seven errors and a .946 fielding percentage.
 
2021: Earned second team All-BIG EAST honors and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the BIG EAST Championship as Villanova won its first conference title and advanced to an NCAA regional for the first time in program history … One of four players on the team who started all 52 games during the year … As of the end of the season had an active streak of 177 consecutive games started dating back to March 2018 … The streak is the fifth-longest in school history … Batted .283 (49-for-173) during the year with a .387 on-base percentage and a .439 slugging percentage … Ranked second on the team with 39 runs scored and eight stolen bases while tying for second with 12 doubles … Hit five home runs and had 33 runs batted in … Walked 21 times, was hit by a pitch a team-high nine times and struck out 34 times … Stole eight bases in nine tries … Had one sacrifice fly … Tallied 12 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games … In five games at the BIG EAST Championship went 5-15 with two home runs, five runs scored and 10 runs batted in … Drew four walks and was hit by a pitch twice to finish the conference tournament reaching base safely 11 times in 21 plate appearances … Villanova needed to defeat Connecticut twice on its home field on the final day of the BIG EAST Championship and Giampolo forced a winner-take-all final game when she blasted a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning in the first game of the day …  It was her second straight game with four RBI, as she went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, three runs scored and four RBI versus Butler a day earlier as the Wildcats avoided elimination and reached the championship with a 14-5 win … On the final weekend of the regular season went 3-for-6 with a double, six RBI, five walks and a hit by pitch against Connecticut to earn BIG EAST Player of the Week honors for the second time during the year … Drove in the tying and go-ahead runs with a two-run single in the regular season finale … Earlier in the year was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 29 after she homered in both ends of a doubleheader sweep of Saint Joseph’s … In the two games she was 5-for-7 with four runs scored, a walk and two solo homers … Chosen for the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll on March 1 after she batted .333 (6-for-18) with four runs scored, two doubles and two RBI over five games against Liberty and Notre Dame during the opening weekend of the season … From May 2-15 put together an eight-game hitting streak during which she batted .409 (9-for-22) and reached base safely 22 times in 35 plate appearances (nine hits, nine walks, four hit by pitch) … Compiled a .962 fielding percentage at second base with 79 putouts, 71 assists and six errors in 156 total chances.
 
2020: One of six players on the team who started all 27 games during the season … Compiled a .317/.423/.476 slash line and ranked third on the team in on-base percentage … Used her speed effectively, leading the BIG EAST with three triples and pacing the Wildcats with seven stolen bases in eight tries … Ranked second on the team with 19 runs scored … Added four doubles, one home run and drove in six runs … Drew 12 walks and was hit by a pitch three times while striking out 11 times … Collected six multi-hit games, including a team-high four three-hit contests … Named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 17 after going 8-for-14 with a double, a triple, a home run, three walks and five runs scored in a tournament at UCF … Her production for the tournament included consecutive three-hit games against Penn State and Iowa State on February 14 … Recorded three hits against Oakland and Kent State later in the year … Reached base safely in 21 of 27 contests overall, including each of the first 10 games of the season … All 27 of her starts came at second base, where she recorded a .952 fielding percentage with 44 putouts, 35 assists and four errors in 83 chances.
 
2019: Earned second team All-BIG EAST and second team All-ECAC honors after slashing .287/.380/.427 on the year … One of three players on the team to start in all 53 games … All of her starts came at second base and she was the leadoff hitter in 52 of the team’s 53 games (batted second once) … Ranked second on the team with 46 runs scored and 20 walks … Led the team with 10 stolen bases in 11 tries … Had seven doubles, one triple and five home runs … Had 49 hits and struck out only 15 times in 201 plate appearances … Drove in 31 runs … Had 11 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games … Reached base safely in a season-high 13 straight games from March 1-16 … Went 2-for-2 with a double, a career-high four runs scored, two hit by pitch, a stolen base and three RBI against Eastern Illinois … Had three hits and three runs scored in the opener of a three-game series versus Seton Hall … Doubled, hit a home run and scored three runs in the second game of a three-game set with Georgetown … Had two doubles and a season-high four RBI against Delaware … In two games at the BIG EAST Championship went 4-for-7 with five runs scored, a home run and two RBI … Named to the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team … Recorded 109 putouts, 83 assists and 13 errors in 205 chances in the field (.937 fielding percentage).
 
2018: Named a first team All-BIG EAST performer as a freshman after playing in 51 games with 49 starts in her collegiate debut season … Batted .315 (40-for-127) with a .378 on-base percentage and a .417 slugging percentage … Ranked second on the team with 32 runs scored, third with 10 doubles and tied for third with eight stolen bases … Hit one home run and had 16 RBI … Drew 11 walks, was hit by a pitch three times and struck out only 16 times in 144 plate appearances … Had eight multi-hit games … Put together a season-high eight-game hitting streak from April 2-13 during which she batted .370 (10-for-27) with 10 runs scored, four doubles, four stolen bases and a home run … During the streak was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI against Delaware State … In the second game of a doubleheader against Seton Hall was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and a season-high three RBI.
 
Notre Dame High School: Earned four varsity letters in softball … Named a second team all-state performer as a junior … From her sophomore through senior seasons was a three-time first team All-CVC selection and was named team MVP each of those years … Helped lead her team to a Mercer County title as a sophomore and finish as the county runner-up her junior and senior seasons … Team also won four consecutive CVC titles from 2014-17 … Batted .425 with 172 hits during her scholastic career and set her school’s career stolen base record … Inducted to the German National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Born 9/25/98 in Freehold, N.J. … One of four daughters of Bill and Cynthia Giampolo … Has three sisters: Alyssa, Ashley and Alayna … Father was a college wrestler at Old Dominion … Sister, Alyssa, played college softball at Goldey-Beacom College …  Enjoys cooking, baking and reading in her spare time … Chose to attend Villanova for the beauty of the campus and the friendly and kind environment on campus … Accounting major in the Villanova School of Business.
