Laura Kurz

Laura Kurz returns for her fifth season as assistant coach for head coach Harry Perretta and the Wildcats in 2019-20. In her role, Kurz will assist with on-court duties, handle firm breakdown and film analysis and serve as the program’s recruiting coordinator.

Kurz transferred to Villanova from Duke University and was a member of the Wildcat program 2006-09. During her two seasons in a Villanova uniform, she scored 1,064 points in 66 career games for an average of 16.1 points per contest and shot .471 from the field (403-of-855) and .357 from three-point range (100-of-280). She is only the second player in program history to score 1,00 points in two seasons. She also tallied 449 rebounds, 84 assists and 73 blocks. Kurz led the Wildcats to the 2009 NCAA Tournament by averaging a team-best 17.4 points per game and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per contest. For her efforts in 2008-09, she was a first team All-BIG EAST honoree, in addition to being named the BIG EAST Conference Most Improved Player and the Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Year nominee.

After graduating from Villanova, Kurz played one season of professional basketball for the Das Ano Liosia Basketball Clun in Ano Liosia, Greece.

She began her coaching career as an assistant at Lehigh University from 2012-2014. Following her two-year stint at Lehigh, Kurz worked one year as a Development Association at Penn Charter High School in Philadelphia.

Kurz is a 2009 graduate of Villanova where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications. She also has a Master of Science degree in Sports Business from New York University.
