2019: In her senior year, Leighton appeared in eight contests and served as team captain. The senior attack recorded one assist against St. Joseph’s (3/2) and picked up a ground ball in the team’s 17-5 win over Butler (4/20). Leighton ended her career with three assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover in 13 games played.

2018: Appeared in five games as a junior and recorded two assists on the season. Leighton also grabbed one ground ball and caused one turnover. 

2017: Did not see action this season.

Garden City High School: 4 year letter winner for lacrosse, 3 year letter winner for soccer. Academically, ranked 4th in her class (2015). Soccer Scholar Athlete Award (2013), Scholar Athlete each season for lacrosse from 2012-2015, Spanish Honor Society 2014-2015, Psychology Department Award 2015. Athletically, Lacrosse All-County honorable mention 2015, National Strength and Conditioning Associating All-American 2015. Won 2012 state championship in lacrosse, 2013 state championship in soccer.

Personal: Psychology major. Daughter of Patricia and Joseph Leighton. Has one brother, Joey, who plays basketball at Middlebury College. Played in high school with current teammates Tara Deangelo and Sarah Kaval. Transferred from Holy Cross, where she also played lacrosse. Enjoys running half marathons, Fly Wheel classes, cooking and art. Chose Villanova for it's amazing sense of community and unity among students and alumni.
