2025: Closed one of the best careers for a Villanova player with an All-BIG EAST First Team campaign … Became the program's all-time leader in assists with 116 … Now ranks third in program history as the third ever Wildcat to reach 200 points … Smashed the single season assist record with 49 (10 higher than previous) …Tied single season program points record with 73 and assists per game with 2.72 … Broke a program single game record with 11 points in the season opener vs. Binghamton on five goals and six assists … Added six assists against St. Joe's the following week … Totaled three goals and five assists against both Bucknell and Lafayette … Had a season-best seven assists at Georgetown … Had seven and six point outings respectively versus Butler (five assists) and Marquette (three goals, three assists) … Scored two goals with two total assists in a pair of BIG EAST Tournament games.
2024: Earned second straight mention on All-BIG EAST Second Team after leading the team in assists and finishing second in points … Picked up BIG EAST All-Tournament Team after a three-goal output in the semifinal contest against Denver … Selected to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 1 and April 29 … Appeared in all 16 games for Villanova with 15 starts … Contributed 52 points with 24 goals and 28 assists … Scored a point in all games except one … Racked up 12 multi-point games including six straight to start the season … Tallied a career-high 10 points with eight assists against Marquette to earn team a postseason berth … Finished the year in program's top single season marks for assists (ninth) and assists per game (1.75, 5th).
2023: Appeared in all 17 games while making 14 starts. Finished with 26 goals and 29 assists to finish second on the team in points with 55. Finished with a SOG% of .768, 14 ground balls, and seven caused turnovers. She had at least two points in 15 out of the 17 games. Finished top five in assists in a single season in program history.Â
BIG EAST: Earned All-BIG EAST Second Team..Had a season high four goals against Lafayette and four assists against Butler.Â
2022: Had an immediate impact at attack as a freshman, appearing in all 16 games, making three starts. Had 21 points, by way of 11 goals and 10 assists with 22 shots on goal. Had at least one point in each of the Wildcat’s wins. Netted her first collegiate goal in the season opener against William & Mary (2/12). Scored two goals against La Salle (3/9) and dished out two assists against Georgetown (4/2). At Marquette (4/9), she tallied five points in the game with two goals and three assists, which tied a team high.
Our Lady of Mercy: Played basketball and lacrosse in high school, at Our Lady of Mercy. Recorded 407 career points, with 198 goals and 209 assists. Broke the single season record for points in a season with 122 in 2017. Awarded the NYS Scholarship Athlete Award (2017-2021). Ranks 16th All-Time in career assists in the state of New York. Team captain as a senior, and named to the All-Greater Rochester team.Â
Personal: Carey is the youngest of three children, with two older brothers, Jacob and Gavin. Parents are Robert and Anita. Chose Villanova because of school pride, athletic programs and academic rigors, as well as the spirit of the lacrosse team.
