Career: Has competed in 22 regattas for the Wildcats, racing in both the eights and the fours during her career … Named a CRCA Scholar-Athlete twice … Eight-time member of the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and eight-time selection to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
 
2022-23: Competed mostly with the 2V8 in the nine races she participated in on the year in seven events … Raced with the V4B shell to a 29th-place finish (15:08.52) and the V8A group to a 13th place finish (13:20.60) at the Navy Day Regatta … Part of the Championship 4s shell that crossed 19th at the Head of the Schuylkill in 15:00.493 and the Championship 8s group that was seventh in 13:18.897 … Competed with the V8 to a fifth-place finish at Doc Hosea with a time of 6:55.88 … Finished third in the Petite Finals with the V8 at the Knecht Cup in 7:09.11 … Also had a Petite Final win with the 2V8 at the Mason Invite (7:35.1) … Part of two second-place 2V8 finishes in head-to-head action against UConn (6:16.08) and Bucknell (6:17.99) … Picked up a 2V8 fourth-place showing at the CAA Championships with a time of 7:54.412.
 
2021-22: Competed in seven events, mostly with the Varsity Eight … Part of V8 boat that was named CAA Boat of the Week in back-to-back weeks, the first such honors for the program … Captured fourth place at the CAA Championships with a 6:46.25 time … Part of back-to-back weekends that saw the Wildcats close the regular season with three wins … Landed in the Grand Final at the Mason Invitational, winning with a time of 6:30.5 … Defeated UConn by nearly seven seconds, crossing in 6:56.30 before taking down Eastern Michigan with a time of 6:39.28 … Crossed fifth at the Knecht Cup in 6:43.47 … Took second with the 2V8 in the dual with La Salle and Drexel in 8:00.3 … Finished 16th in 14:03.497 at the Head of the Schuylkill.
 
2020-21: Competed in both the second varsity eight and the varsity four boats during the spring season … Was in the 5-seat of the second varsity eight boat in an exhibition against Drexel which marked the Wildcats return to the water … Was in the bow seat of the 2V8 lineup at each of the first four official events of the season, beginning with a dual competition against Delaware in which Villanova won the 2V8 race in 7:15.8 and had a 5.4-second margin of victory over the Blue Hens … At the Kerr Cup the 2V8 squad came in second in its heat with a time of 6:49.4 … Villanova won its heat at George Mason in 6:47.8 and posted a winning margin of seven-tenths of a second over Jacksonville … That enabled the Wildcats to reach the grand final where they came in third with a time of 6:59.7 … Helped the 2V8 squad finish third with a time of 7:01.3 at the Kelly Cup where the Wildcats finished in front of local teams from Penn and Saint Joseph’s … Moved to the varsity four boat for the CAA Championship and rowed in the 2-seat as Villanova tallied a fourth place finish with a time of 7:55.59.
 
2019-20: Helped the second varsity four lineup (2-seat) finish 20th out of 48 teams while facing strong competition in the Championship Fours at the Head of the Schuylkill and place second in competition against UCF, Rollins and Duquesne at the Metro Cup Regatta … Raced in the third varsity boat (6-seat) which came in 10th in the JV8+ race at the Navy Day Regatta.
 
Notre Dame Academy: Earned four varsity letters in soccer and three in rowing … Also played junior varsity basketball … Helped her team with the Philadelphia City Championship as a junior … Competed at the Head of the Charles during her sophomore and junior seasons … Her team advanced to either the semifinals or the final at several top events, including the Canadian Henley her junior year as well as SRAA Nationals and Mid-Atlantic regionals … Two-year member of the National Honor Society as a junior and a senior … Inducted to the Spanish Honor Society her junior year.
 
Personal: Born 5/17/01 in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. … One of three children of Vincent and Anita McCarthy … Has two siblings, Durkin and Teddy … Father played college football at Georgetown … Brother, Durkin, was a lightweight collegiate rower … Chose to attend Villanova because it offered the opportunity to study at a premier academic institution and because she would be part of a rowing program built on personal development and winning … Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences and has yet to declare a major.
