Steve Reiniger

Steve Reiniger is the head coach for the women's tennis program, joining the Wildcats program in the 1990s and leading it ever since.

In the 2025 campaign, Reiniger led Villanova's first women's varsity sports team to their first ever BIG EAST Championship match.

Reiniger came to the Wildcats program in 1994 after a four-year collegiate career. He is U.S.P.T.A. certified and has multiple decades of teaching and coaching experience at a number of different levels of tennis.

Reiniger has taught at several clubs in Pennsylvania, including a stint as the teaching pro and director of junior development at Radley Run County Club. He was also the head teaching pro and the head platform tennis pro at the Merion Cricket Club, as well as the director of racquet sports at Whitford Country Club.

As an undergraduate student-athlete Reiniger played four years of varsity tennis at West Chester, where he reached the conference finals in both singles and doubles during his junior and senior seasons. He was named the team MVP as a senior during the 1993-94 season.

Reiniger and his wife Beth, a Villanova graduate, live in Collegeville. The couple has two children, daughter Rachel and son David.
