2025: Scored the second-most goals on the team this season with 63, adding 24 assists on the offensive end while packing a punch on defense with 27 steals and nine blocks in 31 appearances … Logged MAAC Rookie of the Week status twice on the year … Had a season-high five goals twice on the year in wins over McKendree (March 1) and No. 22 Marist Marist (April 5) … Notched a pair of four-goal games early in her career to lead Villanova in scoring against Iona (Jan. 25) and No. 24 Pacific (Feb. 1) … Found the back of the net four times in the win over Siena on Feb. 15 … Had a three-game stretch late in the season where she scored at least three goals per contest, two of those being four-goal outings against CSUN (March 2) and Toronto (March 8).

Club Water Polo: Played for the ODP Future National Team in 2020 in Greece… Was chosen for the National Team Selection Camp in 2020 and 2024… Named to the 6-8 All-Star Team in 2023 who competed in Croatia… Selected to the Regional National Team that played in Serbia in 2024.

Gainesville High School: Gathered nine varsity letters across basketball, swimming, and water polo… Led nation in goals with 186 in sophomore season, averaging 8.5 goals/game... Named 2023-24 Allen Law Scholar Athlete of the Year… Inducted into the Gainesville High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024… Member of the National Honor Society… Received the Mayor’s Award for Leadership in 2020... Academic All-American 2022 and 2024.

Personal: Born February 19, 2006, in Gainesville, Fla… One of three children to Benjamin and Muna Canales… Has two siblings named Shireen and Laith… Chose Villanova for “the perfect combo of Division I athletics and high-level academics along with having family nearby…” Plans to major in biochemistry.
