Villanova Univeristy Athletics

Michael Hay serves as a Director of Fitness and Recreation, a position he's held since 2026. In this role, Hay oversees operations, aquatics and risk management for the fitness & recreation office as well as game day operations for VU's water polo and swim & dive programs.

Previously, Hay worked as the Coordinator of Aquatics and Intramurals from 2019-26. In addition, Hay has functioned as the Esports sport administrator since the fall of 2022 and serves as the City 6 treasurer. 

Prior to Villanova, Hay was the head swim coach and aquatics director at Albright College from 2014-19, achieving four men's team championships and winning two Coach of the Year awards. He also served two years as a graduate assistant swimming coach at Carthage College, assisting in administrative tasks while implementing training plans and race strategy.

Hay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with an engineering minor from Lehigh University in 2008, where he was also a four-year varsity swimmer and senior captain. He completed a Master's in Educational Leadership at Carthage in 2014.
