Ricky Harris

Ricky Harris, a former University of Massachusetts standout and part of Kevin Willard’s staff at Maryland, joined the Villanova staff in April 2025 as an assistant coach after serving two seasons with the Terrapins (2023-25) as the director of player personnel.
 
Harris joined the Terps after spending the previous two seasons as the Director of Operations at his alma mater. Prior to that, he played 11 professional seasons overseas in Lithuania, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Turkey, and Argentina.
 
A 2010 graduate of UMass, Harris was one of the most prolific scorers in program history and led the Minutemen to a 73-58 record during his four-year career highlighted by a pair of NIT appearances.
 
The former standout at Baltimore’s Calvert Hall College High School played in 129 career games at UMass finishing third all-time in scoring with 1,960 points. He ranks second for single-season three pointers made (104, 2007-08) and is tied for the single-game record for threes in a game (8 on Mar. 3, 2010). 

In 2008-09, he averaged 18.2 points per game and hit 37 percent from deep to be named the Atlantic 10 Most Improved Player. He earned NIT All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 20.4 points in five games including 27 points in the championship game against Ohio State. 
 
He finished his career as a two-time All-Atlantic 10 Third Team selection averaging 18 points and 19.8 points during his junior and senior campaigns, respectively.
 
Before UMass, Harris played a prep season at The Winchendon School in Massachusetts following a standout career at Calvert Hall. There he finished as the school's third all-time leading scorer. He was the Baltimore Catholic League Co-Player of the Year in 2005 after averaging 23 points and six rebounds.
