Ryan Dunne joined the Villanova University Strategic Communications department in August 2026. He serves as the primary media contact for the volleyball, men's tennis, baseball, and water polo programs.
Prior to Villanova, Dunne spent 15 months as an Athletic Communications and Creative Services Intern at the University of Delaware. During his time with the Blue Hens, he assisted with a wide array of Division I programs including football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's soccer, baseball, softball, and ice hockey. His responsibilities spanned game-day statistical operations using NCAA Live Stats and PrestoStats, compiling game notes for media and broadcast prep, managing website content via SIDEARM Sports, and producing written and digital multimedia content.Â
Additionally, Dunne gained experience in professional sports operations as a Community Relations Intern with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation during the fall of 2024. In this role, he engaged with fans at home games, supported in-arena and digital fundraising campaigns, assisted with donor relations, and contributed to social media strategies to boost community engagement.
The Wilmington, Del. native graduated from Duquesne University in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication.Â
