Ryan McKenna came to Villanova in August 2026 as a Strategic Communications Intern.
Starting his first year at Villanova, McKenna serves as the primary contact for Field Hockey, Women's Tennis and Softball.
During his college career, McKenna worked for a year as a Strategic Communications Intern at Penn State, where he produced written and multi-media content for the athletics website and for team social media pages. He also functioned as a social media co-coordinator for the 2026 Big Ten Wrestling Championship at Bryce Jordan Center.
A 2026 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in sports studies, McKenna spent two years in the sports beat of the Daily Collegian, the school's student paper. There, he served as a beat reporter for Men's Volleyball, Women's Soccer, and Field Hockey while also producing sports content for the paper's summer staff.
In addition, McKenna spent a summer with EnforceTheSport as a Philadelphia Phillies beat reporter along with BavarianFootballWorks as a beat writer for Bayern Munich.
