Megan Geldernick

Megan Geldernick returns to the Villanova sidelines for her 5th season as an assistant on Chris McLain’s staff.

In 2019 the Wildcats went 10-7-3; Villanova’s highest winning percentage (.575) and the first winning round since 2009. 

The Wildcats finished fourth in the BIG EAST standings last season at 5-3-1 and hosted a BIG EAST Championship match for the first time since 2004. After beating DePaul for a 2nd time in the same season, they advanced to the final four of the BIG EAST Championship for the 1st time in over 15 years.

Since arriving at Villanova, some notable wins have been 2018 SEC Champions, LSU; 2018 CAA Champions, JMU; 2019 IVY League Champions, Brown University; and 2019 BIG EAST Regular Season/ Tournament Champions, Xavier University.

"Megan is a great addition to our coaching staff, she is knowledgeable and very competent in all areas from coaching field players to goalkeepers. Her work ethic is of the highest standards and we are looking forward to having her on staff," added McLain.

A three time member of the Academic all-Big Ten team and Ohio State Scholar Athlete, Geldernick graduated Cum Laude from Ohio State in 2016. 

Geldernick was an ECNL Ohio Premier Head Coach as well as a Goalkeepers Coach and served at the Ohio State Elite Camps as one of the top goalkeeper coaches.  She holds a U.S. Federation Licensed Coach certification.
