Villanova Volleyball Downed at Pittsburgh

Oct. 24, 1999

Pittsburgh, Pa. ? The Villanova women?s volleyball team traveled to cross-state rival Pittsburgh today in women?s volleyball conference action. The host Panthers were unkind to their guests, as they swept Villanova in three games (15-5, 15-7, 15-13). The loss dropped Villanova?s record to 9-15 overall and 0-6 in the Big East this season.

Villanova improved with each game in the match, including a tightly-contested 15-13 loss in the third and final game, but they just could not seem to get it going against the 9-8 (2-4) Panthers. The Wildcats were especially hurt by a .167 hitting percentage.

Junior Breen Eddinger (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine Acad.) led ?Nova with 12 kills, while senior setter Stacey Moline (Sagle, Idaho/Sandpoint) topped the ?Cats with 33 assists.

The Wildcats? next contest will be on Friday, October 29 at St. John?s University, the starting time is 7:30 p.m.
