VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Ducarmel Augustin's 25-yard run on Villanova's first offensive play in overtime lifted the Wildcats to a 51-45 win over Delaware on Saturday.
The Wildcats scored 27 unanswered points to rally from a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit. Chris Boden threw six touchdown passes, including a 2-yard toss to Conor Kinsella with 2:07 remaining in the game to tie the score at 45-45.
Villanova (7-4, 6-2 Atlantic 10 Conference) had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Casey Hannon hooked a 36-yarder wide with 15 seconds remaining. Delaware's Garon Sizemore missed a 40-yarder on the first possession in overtime, setting up Augustin's run on the ensuing play.
Boden, who became just the 31st quarterback in NCAA history to pass for 10,000 career yards and the 12th to reach 10,000 yards and 100 touchdown passes, finished 30-of-44 for 286 yards. He ends his career with 10,146 yards and 100 touchdowns.
Delaware (7-4, 5-3) scored 38 consecutive points to overcome a 24-7 deficit. The Blue Hens took a 28-24 lead on a 61-yard TD pass from Brian Ginn to Butter Pressey with 20 seconds remaining in the first half and held it until Boden connected with Kinsella late in the game.
