Wildcats Cruise Past Howard, 87-49

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Jermaine Medley came off the bench to score 16 points, and reserve forward Brooks Sales had 14 points and 12 rebounds, as Villanova defeated Howard 87-49 Sunday.

Howard Brown had 14 points and Malik Allen added 10 points, for Villianova (10-2), which piled up a 55-30 rebound advantage in the game.

Ali Abdullah had 15 points and Melvin Watson 13 for Howard (0-10), which has not passed the 60-point mark in its last six games.

Villanova built a 37-19 lead on a 3-point shot by T.J. Caouette with five minutes left in the first half and held a 47-21 lead at halftime. The lead reached 74-41 with 6:30 left in the game as Villanova used its reserves over the final nine minutes of the game.

Villanova's next game is on Wednesday, when it travels to Connecticut to meet the No. 1-ranked Huskies.
