VILLANOVA PA.-- As the 1998-99 basketball season begins, Villanova announces that 20 men's games and two women's games will be televised live on various outlets throughout the season. Highlighting the schedule of productions is a feature match-up against St. John's on CBS, Feb. 27. The Wildcats will also have three games on ESPN and two games on ESPN2.
"There is a long tradition at Villanova University of providing maximum television exposure for our Men's Basketball program. With a schedule featuring 20 live broadcasts in the 1998-99 season, including six national exposures, that tradition will continue," said Athletic Director Tim Hofferth.
"We are happy to be able to provide our fans in the area and across the country with the opportunity to watch our student-athletes perform throughout the course of the season."
In addition, the Villanova women's team will be featured on Comcast Sportsnet on Jan. 17 versus Providence and Jan. 30 against Rutgers, both broadcasts will be live.
