Villanova University head women's basketball coach Harry Perretta, today announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Trish Juhline, Kelly Nash, Katie Davis and Jeanine Johnson will all enroll at Villanova in the fall of 1999 and be members of the 1999-2000 Wildcat squad. A local product, Juhline comes to Villanova from nearby Havertown, Pa., and Cardinal O'Hara High School. As a junior last season, the 5-10 Juhline led O'Hara in scoring with a 15.2 ppg. average to go with 5.3 apg and 4.5 rpg. For her efforts last season, Juhline earned first team All-Catholic League honors and fourth team All-State acclaim. In addition, Juhline earned AAU Honorable Mention All-American distinction. Nash, a 5-10 swing player, is a native of Fairfield, Conn., where she attends Fairfield High School. Last season, she averaged 10.2 ppg., 3.5 rpg, 3.6 spg and 3.2 apg and helped lead the Mustangs to a runner-up finish in the state tournament. A native of North East, Md., the 5-10 Davis comes to Villanova will some lofty credentials. Following her junior season at North East High School where she averaged 21.9 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 8.2 spg and 3.1 apg, Davis was selected first team All-State. She also led Cecil County in scoring as a sophomore and a junior and was named 1998 Cecil County Player of the Year. As a junior at Lima High School in Lima, Ohio last season, the 6-1 Johnson led her squad in scoring and rebounding with respective averages of 17.2 ppg and 10.5 rpg. Johnson had numerous honors bestowed upon her last year including earning Division I All-Ohio Girl's Basketball Team Honorable Mention, Northwest Ohio Girl's Basketball Division I second team and Lima News Region's Girl's Elite 10 Team. "We are very happy to have the opportunity to add these four student-athletes to our program. I am confident that these individuals will fit in nicely both as basketball players and as people," said Perretta. "The thing I like most about this class is their versatility, as all four are mobile players who will fit in nicely in our system."
