Women's Basketball Announces New Assistant Coach

June 23, 1999

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head women's basketball coach Harry Perretta today announced the hiring of Shanette Lee as assistant women's basketball coach. In her role on the Wildcat staff, Lee will serve as Perretta's third assistant.

"I am very happy to have another one of my former players return as an assistant coach," said Perretta. "As a coach, it is very rewarding to see people you have coached come back and be a part of the program. I think Shanette will be very successful in the coaching field."

Lee is no stranger to the Villanova women's basketball program as she was four-year standout for Perretta and the Wildcats from 1995-99. Just this past season, Lee became the all-time assist leader in Villanova women's basketball history as she finished her Main Line career with 526.

During her Villanova playing days, Lee started 85 of the 113 games she played in. Her four-year career totals include 645 points, 469 rebounds (12th all-time at Villanova) and 206 steals. This past season, Lee averaged 6.4 ppg., 4.6 apg., 3.8 rpg., and 1.3 apg.
