Football Slips To William & Mary, 48-41

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - David Corley threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns and Hameen Ali scored three touchdowns to lead William & Mary to a 48-41 overtime victory Saturday over Villanova.

In overtime, each team took the ball at the opponent's 25-yard line. William & Mary's Komlan Lonergan scored on a 4-yard run. Villanova (5-5, 3-4 Atlantic 10) had its attempt stopped when quarterback Brett Gordon was sacked on the 19.

William & Mary (5-5, 3-4) battled back to score twice in the final three minutes. Corley hit Rich Musinski with a 10-yard scoring strike with 3:07 left.

After recovering an onsides kick on the Villanova 48, William & Mary tied the game eight plays later when Ali scored on a 1-yard plunge with 1:07 left in the game.

Gordon threw for a career-high 375 yards and three touchdown passes and Brian Westbrook had a season-high all-purpose 327 yards. Gordon put Villanova ahead 33-27 when he connected with Murle Sango on a 16-yard scoring strike with 2:16 left in the third quarter.

Villanova's Clarence Curry recovered his own blocked punt in the end zone and Duc Augustin coverted a two-point coversion with a run that gave Villanova a 14-point cushion at 41-27 with 10:28 left.
