VILLANOVA, PA. - For the second-straight week, Villanova senior quarterback Brett Gordon has been named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week. Gordon earns the award after his outstanding performance in Villanova's 35-7 win over Hofstra on Saturday, Oct. 5.
In the win, Gordon completed 26-of-35 for 234 yards and four touchdowns. En route to his 26 completions, Gordon spread the wealth around, completing at least one pass to 10 different receivers. He was especially effective in the second quarter when the Wildcats broke the game open as he completed 14-of-17 for 131 yards and three scores in the second stanza.
In his last two games, Gordon has completed 66-of-92 for 655 yards to go with eight touchdowns and just one interception. Gordon and the Wildcats return to action this Thursday when the Wildcats host Philadelphia rival the University of Pennsylvania. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Entering play versus the Quakers, Gordon leads the Atlantic 10 in passing yards, completions and touchdown passes.
