The Villanova Wildcats will host a second-straight NCAA Division I-AA playoff game on Saturday, Dec. 7 when they take on the Fordham University Rams in a second round game. Kickoff for next Saturday's game is set for noon at Villanova Stadium.
Tickets for Saturday's second round contest are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for college age students and below. The Villanova Ticket Office (610-519-4100) will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2.
Villanova advances to the second round after a thrilling 45-38 win over the visiting Furman Paladins. Trailing 31-14 midway through the third quarter, the Wildcats scored 31 of the game's final 38 points to gain the win and advance to the second round.
Fordham earns a trip to the second round by virtue of a 29-24 upset of Northeastern in a game played at Parsons Field in Boston, Mass. The Rams, who are coached by former Villanova Offensive Coordinator Dave Clawson, enter play next Saturday with a 10-2 overall record. Fordham finished 6-1 in Patriot League play during the 2002 season to earn an automatic bid to the playoff field of 16.
