Oct. 31, 2003

VILLANOVA, PA. - Former Villanova softball standout Jackie Pasquerella, who currently works for Hofstra Media Relations, has signed on to play for the NewYork/New Jersey Highlanders of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), a league making its debut this spring.

Major League Baseball is the official development partner of National Pro Fastpitch, which will have eight teams in the United States during its initial year. Players, all of whom have a deep background in softball, will report to spring training in May, and will then play a 60-game schedule that runs until early September.

Pasquerella graduated from Villanova in 2001, and finished her career with a batting average of .400, the highest in Villanova softball history.
