VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Villanova softball team fell to Lehigh 5-0 Tuesday at the Villanova Softball Complex.
Sophia Mount (L, 0-3) got the start for the 'Cats (11-39), pitching 5 1/3 innings, striking out one and allowing five runs on nine hits.
Maggie King entered in the sixth, getting out of a bases-loaded jam. King pitched 1 2/3 inning of shutout in relief to end the contest.
A scoreless first three innings led to a two-run top of the fourth for the Mountain Hawks (25-26) to make it 2-0.
Lehigh added another in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the contest at 6-0.
Jaclyn Morra and
Madison Ostrowski both went 1-2 at the plate on the day.
Maranda Runco walked for the 44th time this season, putting her within one for the program walk record behind Paige Rauch (45), who broke the record in 2021.
