HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Isaac Irby scored two third-quarter touchdowns to help Hofstra rally for a 34-32 victory over Villanova in the Atlantic 10 Conference on Saturday night.
Irby caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Anton Clarkson, who replaced the injured Bobbie Seck, midway through the quarter to start the comeback for the Pride (2-8, 2-6).
Forty-two seconds later, Irby scored on a 7-yard run to give the Pride the lead for good at 27-26. Vemba Bakula's 18-yard run in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.
The Wildcats (7-2, 5-2) scored on Joe Casamento's 15-yard pass to John Dieser with 55 seconds remaining in the game, but Casamento was sacked on the 2-point conversion attempt.
Villanova's Marvin Burrows scored on runs of 2 and 6 yards and also threw a 17-yard TD pass to Phil DiGiacomo as the Wildcats scored 26 straight points to take a 26-14 lead.
Burrows was 19-for-30 for 143 yards.
Hofstra's Seck completed 16 of 32 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns, both to Marques Colston.
