Water Polo Falls To Princeton, 18-7

VILLANOVA, Pa.- On Thursday, February 27, the Villanova women's water polo team fell to the visiting Princeton Tigers by the score of 18-7. With the loss, the 'Cats drop to 0-4 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 3-1 on the year.

Princeton opened up a 2-0 lead, but 'Nova came back to cut the score to 2-1 on a goal from freshman Kimberley Pare. Princeton then rallied for four straight goals. Aimee Corsiglia brought Villanova to 5-2 when she beat the Tiger keeper. Following two Princeton goals, Jenny Rosick scored the Wildcats' third goal of the night. Princeton would take a 10-3 lead into halftime.

The Tigers opened the second half with three straight goals, until Pare notched her second goal of the game with 1:42 remaining in the period.

Senior Maria Greshock opened the scoring in the last period, bringing the score to 15-5. The two teams traded goals, with Chesed Ceniseroz scoring the 'Cats' sixth goal of the night. Princeton would go on to score two more goals until Ellen Howe closed out the scoring with 55 seconds left in the game.

Denise Hanes had eight saves in goal for Villanova.

The Wildcats now travel to California where they will take on San Jose State Saturday at 1:15 and Santa Cruz at 3:45.
