Villanova Men's Lacrosse Continues its Winning Ways Against Colgate

Villanova, Pa. - Villanova's #18 ranked men's lacrosse team continued it's winning ways March 23, as they handed Colgate a 10-3 defeat. Senior Brian Marks set the school's all-time career record for assists following a dominating seven assists against Colgate. Villanova improves its record to 5-1 on the season.

The Wildcats started strong and never looked back scoring five first half goals before Colgate could answer with one. Villanova's defense was tough once again holding their opponent to under five goals for the fifth time this season, all Wildcat victories.

Leading the way for the 'Cats was senior Brian Marks who tallied nine points, with two goals and seven assists. Marks seven assists gives him 25 this season, which leads the nation. For his career Marks has totaled 96 assists and stands atop Villanova in career assists.

Marc Creegan continued to be the 'Cats most prolific scorer as he notched another hat trick. Junior Richie Kratz and freshman Brendan O'Donnell each added two goals in the lopsided Villanova victory. Freshman Matt Starker added a man up goal in the final frame for the Wildcats.

Next up for Villanova is a home conference meeting with Sacred Heart on March 29 at 3:00 p.m. The Wildcats, 5-1, will look to go 2-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play.
