Aug. 14, 2003

Villanova and Temple will meet on the football field for the first time since 1980 on Saturday, Sept. 6. Due to yesterday's announcement of an agreement being reached between Temple and the Philadelphia Eagles, the game will be played at the newly-built Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. The contest will be the first, regular-season football contest at the new facility. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

"We are very excited to be playing Temple and to have the game at Lincoln Financial Field makes it that much more special," said Wildcat head coach Andy Talley. "This is a great event for all the college football fans in Philadelphia."

Temple has established the following ticket prices for the game. Club seats will cost $50.00 with premium lower level seats set at $30.00. Reserved end zone seats for adults are priced at $15.00 with reserved end zone seats for children set at $10.00. Tickets for Wildcat students will be $10.00 with a Villanova University identification card.

The Wildcats and Owls met on the gridiron 27 times between 1928 and 1980. In the previous 27 meetings, Temple owns a slim 13-12-2 advantage. Villanova will open the 2003 campaign on Thursday, August 28 with a home contest against Hampton, while Temple will begin the year on Saturday, August 30 at Penn State.
