EASTON, PA. - The Villanova women's tennis team kept its record unblemished with a 6-1 defeat of Lafayette on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

Freshman Candice Carlin improved to 10-2 on the season with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Chez Saricas at No. 1 singles. Kelly McAndrew downed Leigh Pratt, 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles to better her record to 8-2. Lindsey Puchyr picked up her sixth win of the season, while Jessie Rybacki and Leighann Reilly also captured singles matches for the Wildcats.

Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung registered the only singles win for Lafayette, with a 6-1, 6-3 win at second singles over Courtney Flezzani.

In doubles, the Wildcats started three new tandems, with McAndrew and Reilly winning at No. 2 doubles and Rybacki teaming with Erica Walter to earn a win at No. 3 doubles. Carlin and Flezzani suffered an 8-6 setback to Monika Serrano and Pratt in the first doubles spot.

Villanova (3-0) returns to action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Millersville.
