The Red Storm responded with straight-set wins at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to clinch the 4-1 victory. Several other matches remained competitive, including a tightly contested battle at No. 4 singles where Villanova's Stevens split the first two sets and was tied in the third when play was stopped.
