Villanova head coach Jay Wright on the offensive production of starting guards Randy Foye, Mike Nardi and Allan Ray:

"That's what we've got to do. We have to have them involved in every offensive play."

Wright on Curtis Sumpter's defensive effort against Bryant Matthews:

"Curtis really did a good job - an outstanding job. We need him to be that guy. He is able to defend the perimeter and the inside, and Matthews can hurt you either way."

Wright on his team's turnovers:

"Our guys are trying to make the perfect play. The intentions are always good out there, the turnovers are not coming from selfishness."

Wright on the 2003-04 season:

"We're going to stay the course and work to keep getting better."

"They're going to be good. I know they are, we just have to weather the storm right now."

"Villanova fans have been waiting a long time, but we have a different timetable. I just don't want that to affect our guys."

"We don't seem to have a sense of urgency. Our guys have that feeling like, 'Hey, I'm going to be around for three more years' so they just go out and play. We have to get a sense of urgency."

Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg on the deficit his team faced at halftime:

"They had 42 points from the perimeter in the first half, so in the locker room we talked about trying to get it back under 10 and go from there."

Greenberg on Bryant Matthews' foul trouble:

"I thought we did a good job when Bryant went out of there. He took himself out of the game with his frustration, and I probably didn't help things either."

Villanova sophomore guard Allan Ray on the win:

"It's great to get out there and get a win to get our confidence back up."

"It was important to get a lead early on and that is what Coach has been stressing. When we went out against West Virginia we were down like 20 points and had to play catch up the whole game. That has happened to us a few times this year."

Ray on Villanova's remaining schedule:

"We have a big run to end the season. We have Seton Hall, Pitt, Syracuse and UConn. I saw on the Internet that all those teams are locks for the Tournament, so if we are able to get wins against them, we can help our chances."

Teammate Randy Foye:

"My strength is to make plays, and I know I've been struggling from 3-point range so I tried to do some things inside the 3-point line tonight. My shot just hasn't been falling. I've been taking some deep 3's that weren't real good because they were contested."

"Most of our turnovers have come from being too aggressive out there and trying to force things."
