LEWISBURG, PA. - Melissa Reed captured No. 1 singles, but it was not enough as Villanova dropped a 4-3 match at Bucknell in non-conference play on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 11-8, while Bucknell improved to 12-2.
Reed picked up her ninth win of the season, while Kelly McAndrew improved to 20-3 and Leighann Reilly moved to 16-6 with singles decisions against the Bison.
Reed then teamed with Candice Carlin for an 8-6 showing at No. 1 doubles as they pulled to an even 10-10 overall.
Villanova resumes BIG EAST play on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rutgers.
