SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Villanova Swimming and Diving program swam in the Don Reddish relays Thursday evening at the University of Utah. This meet ended the Wildcats' fall break in the west consisting of altitude training and swimming with the Utes. The women fared well against Utah and Brigham Young University, and the men continued to build their program. BYU came out the eventual champions in the meet.
The women garnered one first for the day in the 1500 free relay consisting of Kaitlynn Osborn, Kristina Lennox and 2004 NCAA qualifier, Jenny Somerville with a time of 15:31.77.
The women were able to nab five seconds in the 300 fly (2:55.56), 300 breast (3:24.32), 500 free (4:46.12), 400 medley (4:00.26), 100 IM (4:08.77) relays. The team also had four third place finishes. Lennox had a big day swimming to a first, second in the 500 free relay and third in the 400 free (3:36.47) and 800 free relays (7:50.30).
On the men's side, the team was able to place one third for the evening. The third place finish came in the 300 breast relay consisting of Gene Noone, Jake Rambo, and David Drysdale with a time of 3:07.24.
The Wildcats next take on La Salle on October 21st in Philadelphia at 5:00 p.m.
