VILLANOVA, Pa.--Game notes for Sunday's matchup between No. 25 Villanova (16-6, 6-5) and No. 17 Pittsburgh (18-4,8-3). The game is slated to start at 1:30 p.m. and will air nationally on ABC.

Defense has been Villanova's foundation throughout 2004-05 and it was again on Thursday night at the Continental Airlines Arena. Villanova limited Seton Hall to .327 shooting from the field in a 66-52 victory. It marked the 12th time this season that the `Cats have held an opponent to less than 40 percent shooting from the field. They are 11-1 (.916) in those games.
This marks the third consecutive week in which Villanova is nationally ranked. The Wildcats are listed at No. 25 in the Associated Press poll (No. 22 last week.)
Thus far in 2004-05 Villanova is 2-3 versus ranked opponents. It defeated West Virginia and Kansas while falling to Boston College, UConn, and Syracuse.
Another nationally televised duel is up next for Villanova. Boston College comes to the Pavilion for a 9:00 p.m. game this Wednesday that will be broadcast by ESPN2.
