TOP STORIES

Villanova leaned on its defense on Sunday afternoon at Georgetown. The Wildcats limited the Hoyas to .345 shooting from the field after the Hoyas had hit for .451 in the teams' previous meeting in January. It marked the tenth time this season that Villanova has held to a team to 35 percent shooting or less from the field. The `Cats are 9-1 (.900) in that situation.

This marks the fifth consecutive week in which Villanova is nationally ranked. The Wildcats are listed at No. 19 in the Associated Press poll and No. 22 in the ESPN/USA Today poll. The win over Boston College on Feb. 23 was Villanova's fourth over a ranked opponent in 2004-05 and its second over a top three team (the `Cats downed No. 2 Kansas on Jan. 22).

Freshman guard Kyle Lowry was named co-Big East Rookie of the Week with Connecticut's Rudy Gay for his efforts in leading VU to a pair of wins last week. Lowry played 76 of a possible 80 minutes in place of the injured Mike Nardi and averaged 11.5 ppg.

Guard Tom Grace will be honored in Senior Night ceremonies prior to tonight's game with Seton Hall. Grace is in his fourth season with the program and is a graduate student planning to attend law school in the fall.
