Talley Announces Coaching Hires

Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley rounded out his 2005 coaching staff by hiring Brian Flinn as wide receivers coach and Billy Crocker as a defensive assistant.

Flinn is in his second stint as a Wildcat assistant. From 2000-01, he coached the Villanova tight ends and assisted with the offensive line. Flinn comes to Villanova from Eastern Illinois University where he was an assistant from 2002-05. In addition to coaching the wide receivers and tight ends at Eastern Illinois, he was also the school's pass game coordinator and recruiting coordinator. Flinn has also had coaching experience at the University of Maryland (Graduate Assistant, 2001-02), Drake University (wide receivers, 2000) and Mount Union College (linebackers 1999, wide receivers, 1998). As a player, Flinn was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference tight end at Mount Union College where he was part of Division III National Championship teams in 1993 and 1996. He earned a double major in business administration and philosophy from Mount Union in 1997.

Crocker returns to Villanova where he was a defensive assistant from 2001-02. In his current role, Crocker will coach the Wildcat cornerbacks. Most recently, Crocker coached the running backs at the University of Albany from 2003-04. Crocker attended the United States Coast Guard Academy from 1997-2001 where he was a three-year letterwinner as a defensive back in football and a one-year letterwinner during his freshman year in baseball. He is a 2002 graduate of Villanova University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Crocker also owns a Masters Degree in Arts from the University of Albany.
