Helsinki, Finland-Carmen Douma-Hussar (Villanova, '00) ran the 1500m in 4:05.08 at the World Championships at Helsinki, Finland to place ninth in the final.

Douma-Hussar, running for her native Canada, competed yesterday in the finals.

"Carmen had a fantastic day," said head coach and director of track & field Marcus O'Sullivan."She struggled with injuries over the winter, so for her to place there is great, considering [the championships] use the same standards as the Olympics."

She finished her 'Nova running career as a nine-time All-American with three NCAA individual championships and 15 BIG EAST conference individual titles.
