Aug. 29, 2005

Rieti, Italy-Carmen Douma-Hussar (Villanova, '00) ran the 1500m in 4:02.29 at the Rieti Grand Prix, setting a new personal best and finishing tenth in the event. Fellow former Wildcat Adrian Blincoe (Villanova, '05) also competed in the 1500m on the men's side and also placed tenth with a personal record.

Douma-Hussar shaved eight hundreths of a second off her previous personal record. "For Carmen to be running so well this late in the season is great," said head coach Marcus O'Sullivan. "She's building good momentum to head into the Monaco Grand Prix in two weeks."

Blincoe crossed the line in 3:35.50, fifteen hundreths of a second off his former personal best.

Both Villanovans will return home to run in the Fifth Avenue Mile on September 24th.
