VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova freshman forward Antonio Peña (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Thomas More) will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Wednesday at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

"This is a good news/bad news situation," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "We obviously feel compassion for Antonio in having to go through this surgery. The good news is he can quickly resolve a nagging injury that has slowed his progress in the preseason. When Antonio gets to 100 percent he will be a great Villanova basketball player."

Peña has yet to appear in a game this season and has not been in uniform for the Wildcats last two games due to the knee injury. An evaluation regarding his return to the court will be made following the procedure.
