Five Earn All-American Honors At Indoor NCAAs

Fayetteville, Ark. - The villanova women's track team was very successful in competing at the NCAA championships this weekend. All five women that competed came home with All-American honors.

Akilah Vargas, Tiera Fletcher, Arusha McKenzie and Frances Koons placed sixth in the women's DMR, Marina Muncan finished fifth in the mile and Koons crossed the line tenth in the 3,000m.

Muncan's time of 4:42.13 garnered her All-American status for the tenth time in her career. In Koons's first trip to the NCAAs, her tenth place finish in an elite field was impressive as she was seeded 16th. The sophomore's time of 9:27.49 earned her her second All-American honor after receiving one on Friday as part of the DMR team.
