Princeton, N.J. - Senior Elizabeth Gesel qualified for the NCAA regionals in the 3000m steeplechase at the ECACs yesterday at William Weaver Track & Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
Gesel's time of 10:46.00 was well under the 10:50 qualifying time set by the NCAA. The senior shattered her previous personal best by seven seconds, and she is the eighth Wildcat on the women's side to qualify for regionals.
Monique Morgan is qualified in the 100m and 400m hurdles, Yolanda Malcolm is qualified in the 100m hurdles, Arusha McKenzie, Akilah Vargas and Marina Muncan all qualified in the 800m (Muncan in the 1500m as well), and Frances Koons and Ioana Parusheva in the 1500m.
Regionals are being held on May 26-27, in Greensboro, NC.
