BALTIMORE, Md. - Villanova men's lacrosse standout Chris MacDonald has received a Preseason All-American honorable mention nod from Inside Lacrosse Magazine prior to the start of the 2008 season. MacDonald is recognized in the magazine's Face-Off Yearbook, which lists him as one of the top-90 Division I men's lacrosse players in the country. The All-American list is featured in the Face-Off Yearbook, which will be released on Decemeber 13 at the IMLCA Clinic in Philadelphia.
MacDonald, who was named to the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association's Second Team for the second consecutive year, will serve as one of Villanova's four captains for the 2008 season. Consistent with his 2006 performance, the senior midfielder once again reigned at the team leader in assists with 18 during his 2007 campaign as a junior. The Westfield, N.J. native also tallied 19 goals for a total of 37 points, marking him as the Wildcat leader in total points last year.
Villanova will open the 2008 season on February 17 as they take on nine-time NCAA Champion Syracuse in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.
