DENVER, Colo. - Former Wildcat and recent graduate Mike Haas was drafted into the National Lacrosse League this past Saturday afternoon at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo. Haas was selected by the New York Titans during the fifth round of the entry draft as the 59th overall pick. The NLL teams, which endured a six-round draft, had a large pool of players to choose from, which included talented athletes from U.S. college programs as well as Canada's junior lacrosse system.
Haas had an impressive career during his four-year stint on the Main Line. Over his first three years as a Wildcat, he was featured as a defensive midfielder, where he registered nine goals and 12 assists for a total of 21 points. After moving to attack during his final season, he scored 18 goals and dished out nine assists for 27 overall points, placing him third on the team in goals scored and total points. As a senior, Haas also scooped up 24 groundballs, increasing his career total to 82.
With Haas and his 11 other senior classmates at the helm for the 2007 season, Villanova finished 7-7 overall and 2-4 in the CAA.
