VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats moved up five spots to No. 9 in this week's Sports Network poll. Villanova garnered 1,752 points in the poll and are one of six CAA teams in the top 25. Villanova has climbed 10 spots in the poll in the last two weeks after defeating No. 1 Richmond on Sept. 27 and winning at William & Mary last Saturday.
CAA member James Madison occupies the top spot for the second straight week with 2,793 points followed by Appalachian State with 2,558 points and McNeese State with 2,461 points. CAA members New Hampshire (2,218 points) and Richmond (2,160 points) round out the top five.
The two other CAA teams in this week's top 25 include Massachusetts (1,405 points) at No. 13 and Delaware (406 points) at No. 24.
Villanova has a bye this week and will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Wildcats travel to Rhode Island.
