RICHMOND, Va. - Two members of the Villanova Wildcat football team were honored by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) for their play in last Saturday's 26-20 upset win over the No. 1 ranked Richmond Spiders. Sophomore running back Aaron Ball (Los Angeles, Calif.) earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while senior kicker Joe Marcoux (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) was named CAA Special Teams Player of the Week.
Ball had a career day in Saturday's victory. He carried a career-high 18 times for a career-best 123 yards and a career-high two touchdowns. One of the two scores came on a career-best 63 yard rush. After four games, Ball leads the Wildcats in rushing with 289 yards on 61 carries and four touchdowns.
Marcoux earns CAA Special Teams Player of the Week distinction for the second time in three weeks. In the Richmond win, he was four-of-four in field goal attempts and two-of-two in PATs. The career-high tying four field goals came from 21 yards, 25 yards, 29 yards and a career-long of 48 yards. The 48-yarder rates as the sixth longest field goal in Villanova history.
